A NEW NIGERIA I SEE; THE REAL INDEPENDENCE

Nigeria is my country and I love her, am so grateful for all she has and all she will be. Happy Independence Everyone, there is only a nation called Nigeria because you and i exist, we are the Nigeria of today. I believe in a developed Nigeria, a Nigeria that is the envy of other nations, for a man at the age of 55, there is a lot of expectations. I believe that every citizen of this great nation deserves;

A Nigeria where police men have enough that they don't need to collect money.

A Nigeria with exceptional Health and Educational institutions.

A Nigeria where our main source of revenue is not Oil...

A Nigeria whose International Airport is a place to look forward to on a return trip.
A Nation that is called blessed amongst others.
A Nation that is a blessing to other nations in Africa and beyond.       A nation where entrepreneurs can survive.
A nation where criminals and offenders can't go free.
A nation that's free of being tagged 419 country.
A nation where ladies can go out without being scared of being raped.
A nation where democracy is actually democracy.
A nation where independence means independence.
A nation where I don't need to calculate the next time light will be on in my area.
A nation where my education, MSc inclusive can make sense.
A nation where 5 years course means 5 years course.
A nation where students get to serve their fatherland at the appropriate time.
A nation where NYSC can be scrapped if possible.
A nation whose leaders are of impeccable character and whose influence extends to the very grassroots.
A nation where the old generation is constantly thinking of creating a better atmosphere and future for the young generation.

I believe in a Nigeria where the wealth margin between those in power and the "average" hardworking Nigerian isn't as wide.

I believe in a Nigeria where everyone's mindset to government work is to really serve the nation.. and not to chop and clean mouth

I believe in Nigeria where indigenous products are not seen as inferior... and are more preferred to their imported counterparts.

I believe in a Nigeria where people don't believe they have to fly out of the country before having access to quality health services

I believe in a Nigeria whose economy is diversified; whose people are unified.

I believe in a Nigeria where each one is his brother's keeper; where the old are well taken care of; where adequate plans are put in place for the younger generation; where beggars and the mentally challenged are not littered everywhere in the streets; where the physically challenged are also given the platform to contribute their quota....

Never forget the oath you took when you recited

 I pledge to Nigeria my country
  To be faithful, loyal and honest
  To serve Nigeria with all my strength
  To defend her unity, and uphold her honour and glory
  So help me God.

And then you sang

Arise, O compatriots, Nigeria's call obey

To serve our fatherland

With love and strength and faith

The labour of our heroes past Shall never be in vain

To serve with heart and might

One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

Oh God of creation, direct our noble cause

Guide our leaders right

Help our youth the truth to know

In love and honesty to grow

And living just and true

Great lofty heights attain

To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign.
